Love Letters by Zakes Mda

Love Letters is a commissioned children’s play by Zakes Mda for the National Cultural History Museum. The title of the play refers to age-old tradition of young men and women giving each other beads as love letters.

First published in Let Us Play, Johannesburg: Vivlia Publishers, 1998.

First performed by the Windybrow Centre for the Arts to tour schools in 1995. Directed by Mda.

Love Letters by A.R. Gurney

Written by American playwright, novelist and academic A.R. Gurney (born 1930) [1].

Presented by Pieter Toerien, opening at the Richard Haines Theatre 27 September 1991, directed by Janice Honeyman, starring Jana Cilliers as Melissa Gardner and Sean Taylor as Andrew Makepeace Ladd. This production opened at the Theatre on the Bay on 15 January 1992.
