(b. Umgeni, Natal, 06/09/1882? – d. **/**/*****). Actor. Lonsdale Young acted in at least three silent films for African Film Productions, all directed by Joseph Albrecht: The Voice of the Waters (1918), Copper Mask (1919) and The Man Who Was Afraid (1920). In Copper Mask he was the man "rescued" by Adele Fillis. A Lonsdale Young saw service during the South African War with French’s Scouts and though we can’t be certain that this was the same person, he would have been about the right age to play the roles he did.
