Lobgesang ("Hymn of Praise"), is a 13-movement "Symphony-Cantata on Words of the Holy Bible for Soloists, Choir and Orchestra" by Felix Mendelssohn (1809-1847)[1]


1875: Performed as part of the repertoire of the Harvey-Turner Opera Company when it visited the goldfields in Johannesburg and Cape Town. The other works listed include Faust, Il Trovatore, Maritana, The Bohemian Girl, and Stabat Mater.
