Elizabeth (Liz) Szymczak (19**- ) is a South African actress

Biography

She is married to Nicholas Ellenbogen and their son is Luke Ellenbogen.

She began her career in the 1970s in Cape Town where she was a company member for CAPAB.

After a 12-year absence she reappeared on stage in 1989.

She is a founder member of Theatre for Africa

Stage productions she has taken part in include: Julius Caesar (with CAPAB), The Playboy of the Western World (with CAPAB, 1976), Blithe Spirit (with CAPAB, 1976), Present Laughter (1989), Goodbye, Mr Chips (1994-5), The Captain, the Corporal and the Courtesan (2002), Nell in Endgame (2010), Old Kit Bag (2014).

A Nativity, a Christmas story about the postal rorkers of Nuga Moya (?) (AfricaWide database).

She played the part of Monica in Nicholas Ellenbogen and Koos Roets's local feature film The Angel, the Bicycle and the Chinaman's Finger (1992).

Awards, etc

She has won awards for her performance in plays such as Kloof Eagle.

Nomination Best Supporting Actress M-Net Awards 1993.

Nominated for Fleur du Cap Best supporting Actress for Endgame as Nell, Feb 2011. (Star 9 Feb 2011).
