She was a member of the company of players recruited in England and brought to South Africa by Henry Harper in 1884. In Harper's opening production in the newly built Theatre Royal in Cape Town, she played "Franchette" in The Two Gregories (Dibdin). She presumably took other roles in the rest of the season.
