(1929-) British director and actor on stage and film. (Also known as Nicholas Amer  & Nick Amer )  Born in Birkenhead, Cheshire  and began acting profesionally in 1948. [[Toerien]], [[Rubin]] and [[Firth]] brought him to South Africa to star in [[Anthony Shaffer]]’s ''[[Sleuth]]'', together with fellow Englishmen [[Ralph Michael]] and [[Warren Jenkins]], who directed this thriller at the [[Intimate]] circa 1970. In 1979 he returned to direct the [[Des and Dawn Lindberg]] production of [[The Importance of Being Irish]] with [[Thom Delaney]] at the [[Arena Theatre]] in Johannesburg.
