Li Lau is an escapologist and performer of sideshow stunts.

Biography

Better known as One Crazy China, he specialises in what he calls "bizarre entertainment", a unique blend of escapology and sideshow stunts with a touch of mentalism.

An avid and long-time comic book fan, his interest in escapes and magic began early on and stemmed from his love of characters, such as Mister Miracle and Batman. Years later, his interest in escapology was piqued anew while living abroad in London and visiting the famous Davenports Magic Shop.

Performances

Lau got his first opportunity to perform in 2011 when he appeared at a local Animal Welfare Society meeting in Port Elizabeth, and since then has been performing publically on a regular basis.

In 2018 Lau and Brendon Peel created and performed The Carnival Sideshow (And Other Magical Things), which ran daily at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown from June 28 to July 2. It was also performed at The Savoy in Port Elizabeth, during December.
