Les Chaises (1952) by Eugène Ionesco. Immensely popular absurdist play about non-communication. Translated into English as The Chairs by Richard Daneel and directed by him for the NTO Kamertoneel in 1959. Translated into Afrikaans as Die Stoele by Uys Krige/Bartho Smit/Andre P Brink??***, it was produced by ** in 19**.

A Don Maguire Production in 1979 featured The Chairs and The Lesson in An Evening with Ionesco at the Baxter Theatre Studio. Directed by Don Maguire, the cast included Barbara Maguire, Richard Farmer and Don Maguire.
