Les Amateurs de l'Isle de France
Les Amateurs de l'Isle de France is a name used (at least once in December 1805) to refer to a company of French Amateur Company that had performed in the African Theatre and which was supported and run by French and Dutch citizens. This was possibly not only because of the presence of a number of theatre-minded sailors from two ships from Mauritius (l'Isle de France) which had stranded in Table Bay and Hout Bay respectively in this period (the brig Atalanta and the Napoleon).
