Biography
Lerina was born in Namibia and has lived in Johannesburg for most of her life. She is married to Gunther Schmikal.
Youth
Training
She studied drama at the University of Pretoria.
Career
She started as an actress with PACT.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
Her stage work includes classic plays such as Elektra, Antigone and Medea, for PACT*?,
Her film and TV work as actress includes roles in the film Dit was aand en dit was môre (Franz Marx, 1978), and such TV series as Dokter-Dokter and Drama-Drama. After the birth of her son, she began to focus on her writing, prioducing a range of radio series, such as Die Mannheim Sage, Hartjie my Liefie, Noodlotskoppelmaai, Solitaire and Vriendinne.
