A one act French comedy in prose.Bosman (1928: p128) wrongly lists it as by "Pont-De-Vesle", but actually by Antoine de Fériol de Pont-de-Veyle, one of the editors of the Bibliothèque dramatique de Pont de Vesle by Bibliophile Jacob.

First performed in Paris, at the Théâtre de la rue des Fossés Saint-Germain, on 19 January 1739.

Performance history in South Africa

Performed in Cape Town by students of Mr M.J. Riaux, under his direction, followed by the ballet De Liefdenest (Riaux and Meurant).
