The original text
The French version by Benoît Pelletier-Volméranges was first produced in Paris at the Théâtre de Louvois in 1797/8 and published in 1800 by Marchands de Nouveautés, Marseilles and by Barba, Paris in 1803.
Translations and adaptations
Translated into Dutch by Adolf Tack and published by Abraham Mars, Amsterdam in 1800 as Het Huwlyk van den Capucyn ("The marriage of the Capucin monk") . Later sources (including Bosman, 1928) have the title as Het Huwelyk van den Capucyn.
