The French version by Benoît Pelletier-Volméranges was first produced and published in 1799.

Translations and adaptations

Translated into Dutch by Adolf Tack and published by Abraham Mars, Amsterdam in 1800 as Het Huwlyk van den Capucyn. Later sources (including Bosman, 1928) have the title as Het Huwelyk van den Capucyn.

Performance history in South Africa

1824: Performed as Het Huwelyk van den Capucyn by Tot Nut en Vermaak in the African Theatre, Cape Town on 21 August, 1824, with De Onechte Dochter (Meijer).
