Le Chapeau d'un Horloger ("The hat of a watchmaker") is a one act comedy by Delphine de Girardin (1804–1855).
The original text
First performed in Paris, at the Théâtre du Gymnase on 16 December, 1854 and published there by Calmann and Lêvy in 1854.
Translations and Adaptations
Translated into Dutch as De Hoed van den Horlogemaker (The hat of the watchmaker") for the use of the Rederijkers by Leonard and published in Amsterdam in 1875.
Performance history in South Africa
1886: Performed in Dutch as De Hoed van den Horlogemaker in the Oddfellows Hall, Cape Town, by Aurora II on 19 October, with Het Brandmerk, of De Twee Galeiboeven (no author given)
