Le Baron de Felsheim à la Bataille de Friedberg is a French drama in 3 acts by Alexandre Bernos (1771-1864)[1].

The original text

Based on the novel Les Barons de Felsheim (1798) by Pigault-Lebrun (Charles-Antoine-Guillaume Pigault de l'Épinoy) and first performed in Paris in the Théâtre de Ambigu-Comique[2] on 16 February. Published in Paris by Barba in 1811.

Translations and adaptations

Translated into Dutch as De Baron van Felsheim, of De Slag bij Friedberg by an unknown translator, and published in Rotterdam by J. Hendriksen (no date).

Also found as De Baron van Felsheim, of De Slag by Friedberg or by its shorter title as De Baron van Felsheim.

1847: Performed in Dutch as De Baron van Felsheim, of De Slag by Friedberg by the combined company, Het Privaat Hollandsch Tooneellievend Gezelschap playing under the combined motto Tot Nut en Vermaak en Door Yver Vruchtbaar, in the Hope Street Theatre, Cape Town on 2 November, with as afterpiece Uilenspiegel (Von Kotzebue).

1878: Performed in Dutch as De Baron van Felsheim, of De Slag bij Friedberg by the Rederijkerskamer Aurora II in the Athenaeum Hall, Cape Town, on 22 August, with Een Kapitale Erfenis, of De Corsicaanse Bloedwraak (Anon.)
