Lady Clancarty, or Wedded and Wooed is a comedy in four acts by Tom Taylor (1817-1880)[1].

The play later also performed under the shortened title of Lady Clancarty, or even simply billed as Clancarty.

The play is wrongly listed in the index to F.C.L. Bosman's 19870 history of South African theatre as "Lady Clantary, or Wedded and Wooed", though named correctly named in the body of the text (p.368).

The original text

Described as "a tale of the assassination plot, 1696", it was first performed, under its original full title, at the Olympic Theatre, London, on 9 March, 1874.

Published by Samuel French, London, Issue 368 of French's standard drama (The Acting edition) in 1874 and by Chatto & Windus, 1877.
