La Double Inconstance (1723), a comedy by Pierre-Carlet de Chamblain de Marivaux (1688-1763). The two main characters think they are in love but gradually discover their error when true love enters their lives. Translated into English as The Double Inconstancy. An adapted translation by Joc. de Bruyn, titled The Double Face of Love was produced by De Bruyn, presented by University Theatre Stellenbosch in the H.B. Thom Theatre in September 1971 starring Johann van Heerden, Sharon Montgomery, Chris van Rensburg, Juanita Swanepoel, Fred Nel, Roberta Durrant and others.
