La Clochette is a French comedy in one act, by Louis Anseaume (1721-1784)[, with music by Duny. (Author also referred to as Louis Anseame at times.)


The original text

First performed by the Comédiens, Italiens Ordinaires du Roi, on 24 July, 1766.

Published in paris by Duchesne in 1771.

Translations and adaptations

South African performances

1805: First performed in the original French on 30 September 1805 in the African Theatre, Cape Town by the French Company founded by Villet in the African Theatre. Mr Delémery was "Nicodéme" . The other plays performed are La Meunière De Gentilly (Lemonnier) and Le Mariage Forcé (Molière).
