Vlyt en Kunst (1870-1871)was a breakaway group from Cape Town amateur theatre company Door Yver Bloeit de Kunst

The break came because of internal strife in the parent company, and was later followed by further desertions by a number of members. in 1870. Kunst en Vlyt only lasted about two years.

The company apparently performed in the Loyal St George Lodge Hall, on the corner of Loop and Hout streets, Cape Town and the Royal Lyceum Theatre .

Their performances included: Het Testament, of De Geheim van Udolpho (), Vier Schildwachhten op eenen Post (Vogel), Storb en Werner, of De Gevolgen van een Tweegevecht (Bonel and Boirie), De Deserteur (Von Kotzebue), Siegfriend van Hohenwart (Westerman), De Nachtwacht (Körner),
