Krom Stompe ("Twisted tree stumps") is a one act Afrikaans play by D.F. Malherbe (1881-1969).

A play about the monk Rudolphus and his confrontation with Robina, the love of his youth, and his own doubts about the choice he had made.

Published by Nasionale Boekhandel Bpk in Malherbe's collection Die Uur van die Rooi Maan en Ander Eenbedrywe in 1950.

Performance history in South Africa

Performed as a two-act play in the City Hall, Port Elizabeth, on March 22, 1951, at the launch of Die Port Elizabethse Afrikaanse Amateurtoneelvereniging (PEAAT). The actors were Julius Burmeister, Jac Fick, Frikkie Knoetze and Hester de Beer.
