Written in 1930 and published in Plattdeutsch (Low German) as Swienskomödi "Een Buernstück in dree Ennens" ("a rural piece in three acts") by Quickborn, Hamburg (1930, 1933). Also known in its High German version of Krach um Jolanthe ("Fuss about Jolanthe"), and published in this form in 1933 by Drei-Masken-Verlag, Berlin, and by Deutscher Laienspiel-Verlag, Weinheim in 1952.
