In 1920 she married Dr. [[Andries Havenga]] in Camberwell, London and upon their return they began to play an increasingly important part in the cultural life of the city.  When, in 1932, the [[Hanekoms]] started their [[Toneelskool]] in Bloemfontein, Dr. Havenga served on the advisory board and he and Kitty Maasdorp/Havenga were active participants in a number of plays.

Kitty Maasdorp (b. 16/06/1898 - d. 03/08/1971) was an actress and teacher.

Biography

As a young woman, Katharina (Katie) Rörich Maasdorp won numerous awards at eisteddfods or kunswedstryde organised by the Oranje-Vrouevereniging in Bloemfontein. In 1920 she married Dr. Andries Havenga in Camberwell, London and upon their return they began to play an increasingly important part in the cultural life of the city. When, in 1932, the Hanekoms started their Toneelskool in Bloemfontein, Dr. Havenga served on the advisory board and he and Kitty Maasdorp/Havenga were active participants in a number of plays.
