Keyan Tomaselli is an academic and researcher in cultural and media studies.


He himself lists his areas of specialization as Cultural and Media studies, Critical Indigenous research methodology Development Communication, and his projects and publications have included studies in theatre, film, media and performance.

He studied at the University of Witwatersrand, obtaining a BA (Honours), an MA (Dramatic Art, 1980) with a masters thesis on The Semiotics of Film and a PhD (1984) with a doctoral thesis on Ideology and Cultural Production in South African Cinema[1]
