Kermis op Koekenmoer is a translation into Afrikaans by Merwe Scholtz of a sophisticated comedy (Das Jahrmarkfest) about the conflict between art and power by German playwright, author, and essayist Peter Hacks (1928-2003). The translated version was directed by Peter Kleinschmidt for CAPAB in August 1983, starring Mees Xteen, George Ballot and Elsabé Zietsman, each in various roles. Music by Marilyn Taylor, decor and costumes by Dicky Longhurst, lighting by Malcolm Hurrell.
