Kere Nyawo

NYAWO, Kere (19**- ). A South African actor best known for his role as Popeye in the SABC1 drama series Zone 14 (2005 onwards).

Until 1992 Nyawo was a criminal, a car hijacker, a drug dealer and was eventually imprisoned. After his release, in 1993, he wrote a play, Hola Majita, which started out as an Arts Alive workshop and Positive Arts Society project at Soweto's Chiawelo Community Centre (triple C).
