Kate Normington (19**-) Actress, cabaret and revue artist.

Biography

Youth

Training

Studied drama at the University of the Witwatersrand for three years. She left in 1987 at the beginning of her honours year.


Career

She made a name for herself in cabaret and musical theatre. Began at venues like No 58, Hillbrow, under the watchful eye of Barbara Thompson. Also performed for Pieter Toerien Productions.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

She starred in Kevin Feather’s production of Tarts at the La Parisienne in 1986. She starred in Tobie Cronje’s production of Nunsense at the Alhambra Theatre in 1988. She starred in Lerner and Lowe’s Camelot at the State Theatre in 1989. She starred in Romance, Romance under Geoffrey Sutherland’s direction in 1990. She starred in My Fair Lady at the State Theatre in 1990. She starred in A Touch of Webber...A Taste of Rice at the The Sound Stage from 1991 to 1992. She starred in Janice Honeyman’s production of Hair at the Civic Theatre in 1994.
