History

The association was formed as a dissident group in 1887, when internal strife arose in the well-known rederijkerskamer Aurora II. De Eendracht served as a transitional amateur theatre organization in Cape Town, performing under the motto "Door Oefening wordt de kunst verkregen" ("art is attained through practice") till 1883.

The leading figure was P. Faddegon, supported by J. Combrink, with other members including G. Wanneburg, Mr Van de Cappelle, J. Hemmes, Mr Veldhuisen, Mr Siebolds, Miss Van Spoor, Anna Valois and Miss Beersma.
