Julie settled in South Africa with novelist Mary Renault (1905-1983) [1] in 1948. She died in South Africa in 2006.

She wrote the play Barry and dramatised Gerald Gordon's novel Let the Day Perish.

She was novelist Mary Renault's literary executor.
