LEVY, Joseph Langley. (1870-1945) Journalist, drama critic and editor of the Sunday Times for thirty years (1910-1940). Even in his time as editor he personally wrote reviews and comic contributions for the paper. He took a keen interest in music and theatre and had a great influence on the development of culture in Johannesburg. (De Beer, 1995, Joyce, 1999).
