Joseph Bray (17**-18**) was a Cape Town resident and one of the original 24 shareholders, to whom a section of the Boereplein was donated for the building of a theatre in 1800. (Also referred to as Jos. Bray)

Later followed E. van Nuldt Onkruydt as the Treasurer of the committee which originally ran the African Theatre from 1801, under the chairmanship of the Governor of the Cape. *
