Biography

Born Jozef Hendrik Pieter Albrecht Willems in Knokke, Belgium on 2 July 1923. After active duty in WWII as a member of the Flemish Brigade, he moved to South Africa in 1951, where his bride-to-be, Monigue, joined him in the same year and they were married in Cape Town. He became a South African citizen in 1967.

He was appointed adminstrative and public relations officer for the Stellenbosch Drama Department of Stellenbosch University by Professor Fred Engelen in 1965 - a position which he would hold until his retirement in 1985 (1987?).
