Johnny Belinda is a play by American author, dramatist, and playwright Elmer Harris [1].

First performed on Broadway in 1940.

The play was adapted for the screen by writers Allen Vincent and Irma von Cube, and directed by Jean Negulesco in 1948.

Performance history in South Africa

Presented by the Brian Brooke Company in 1953 starring Zoë Randall.

Presented by the Uitenhage Congregational Players, directed by W.E. Teare, 1956.
