Biography
Born in Sri Lanka, educated in England and evacuated to Australia during WW2. After a stint with the New Zealand Broadcasting Service, he returned to England where he read law at Queens college, Oxford.
Training
Career
He has over 300 credits in television drama with the BBC and ITV, from soap opera to the classics.
He progressed from Repertory to the West End, the most notable of the plays in which he featured there being A Man for all Seasons and A Day in the Death of Joe Egg.
He has also appeared in numerous films, e.g. Sheltering Desert.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
Roles include the Baxter Theatre production of Julian Mitchell’s Another Country in 1983 before it moved to the [Market Theatre]] with minor cast changes in July. He starred in the Baxter production of Aleksei Arbuzov’s Old-World at the Leonard Rayne Theatre in 1984 and Baxter Studio. He starred in Miscarriage of Murder for Pieter Toerien in 1986, "C.S. Lewis" in Shadowlands (Fleur du Cap Theatre Award, Best Actor, 1993).
Directed The Anastasia File and at Baxter Happy Jack in 1990 and Oleanna in 1994.

Nominated Vita (Cape) Best Supporting Actor Shadowlands award year 1992.
Won Vita National for role as Warnie Lewis, award year 1992.
Won Fleur du Cap Best Actor award year 1994 Shadowlands.
Nominated best director Oleanna Vita Cape award year 1994.
