The Johannesburgse Afrikaanse Amateur Toneelspelers is an Afrikaans amateur theatre group in Johannesburg,

It is best known by the acronym JAATS (or J.A.A.T.S.).

The society evolved out of Schalk Theron’s Sonop Afrikaner Kring.

Some performances

On the 15th of December, 1949, they participated in the Inauguration of the Voortrekker Monument Pretoria, December 13 to 16, 1949, with a tableau scene called 'n Voortrekker Troue ("A Voortrekker Marriage") by Adèle Jooste.

Other plays done by JAATS included Die Vrek (Moliere), Die Laaste van die Takhare (Langenhoven), Bitter Einde (Weber, 1955), Die Goue Kring (Krige, 1956), Moeder Hanna (Smit, 1956)
