Biography

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Obtained his doctorate in 1959 from the University of the Orange Free State, with a thesis on the history of Dutch and Afrikaans theatre and drama in South Africa from 1801-1955. (Toneel en kultuur : die ontwikkelingsgeskiedenis van die Hollandse en Afrikaanse toneel en drama in Suid-Afrika, 1801-1955.).
