He worked  with three [[Performing Arts Councils]], notably for [[PACOFS]] in the late 1960s and early 1970s, initially as actor, later as drama manger. Later in 2009 he and his wife [[Lida Botha]] performed in and had national success with ''[[Oupa en Ouma sit op die stoep]]'' , written for them and directed by [[Leon Kruger]],  followed in  2012 by the sequel ''[[Oupa en Ouma sit op die stoep en raak romanties]]'', also written and directed by[[ Leon Kruger]]. In 2012 they founded [[JohanLida Produksies]], to tour the rpoduction, Johan now directing. Also has had roles in many radio plays and a few films and TV series, including ''Arende'' (198*), **.
