Jean-Marie is a one act drama in verse by André Theuriet (1833–1907)[1]

The original text

First performed in Paris, at the Théâtre de l'Odéon, on 11 October, 1871.

Translations and adaptations

Translated into Dutch by an unknown author. Nothing much is known of the Dutch version, except that a performance of a one act play by this name (ascribed to "Theurieb") was done in Pretoria in 1908 and a dramatic sketch called Jean Marie (no author mentioned), was done as preamble to a work called "Genraalsvrouwtje" (probably the four act farce Het Generaalsvrouwtje by Henri t'Sas), is recorded by the Rederijkerskamer 'Nut en Genoegen' te Holwierde on 14 January, 1921.

Translated into English as Jean Marie: A Play in One Act by Barrett H. Clark and published by S. French, 1915
