Jannie Moolman joined the PACT permanent chorus in 1989 and was soon undertaking smaller roles with the company. At the end of 1991 he added his first major role in a musical, Charlie in Brigadoon. In January 1992 he was promoted to soloist and then appeared in several major roles. He also appeared in Soireés and Sunday Morning Opera Concerts. He is the recipient of a Vita Award as most promising singer. He took a year's absence and then rejoined PACT Opera in January 1995. In February he was heard as Don José in Peter Brook's La Tragédie de Carmen at CAPAB's opera festival, followed by Ernesto in PACT's Don Pasquale followed by two performances as Rodolfo in La Bohème. Most recently he was heard at Tamino in Die Zauberflöte for CAPAB.
