Jaci Smith (197*- ) is a South African stage actress, director and playwright, originally from Cape Town.

Biography

Married to actor Gys de Villiers. They moved to New York in April 2015.


Training

Graduated with a Bilingual Performers Diploma from University of Cape Town Drama Department in 1993. She also studied opera under Sarita Stern.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

As an actress her theatre work includes Kwamanzi, Horn of Sorrow, Journey (Hearts & Eyes Theatre Collective), Macbeth and Boy Meets Boy (both directed by Marthinus Basson), Fiela's Child, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change and Honk! both for which she got Vita Award nominations, Suig by Gys de Villiers, 2004.

Amongst other plays Jaci co-created In Search of the Perfect Dish, Tower of Tongues, Virtual Bioscope (a musical), She Gau and For Better, For Wors.

She directed Noah of Cape Town in 2009.
