J. Lyall (or J. Lyal) was a local amateur performer in Cape Town.


Biography

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

He was a member of the private (i.e. non regimental) concert company known as Amateur Coloured Troupe in the Minstrelsy[1] style popularized by the Christy Minstrels. They were active in Cape Town between 1869 and 1871.
