J. Johnson

J. Johnson was serving in the Cape Mounted Rifles on the Eastern Frontier of the Cape Colony in 1862 and was possibly one of the men who were principally employed as post-riders between the different frontier stations.


Contribution to SA theatre

J. Johnson was a guest actor who performed in one production with the Band of Amateurs when the North Lincolnshire Regiment of Foot was based in Keiskammahoek.

November 26, 1862: The Band of Amateurs performed I. Pocock's famous melo-drama The Miller and His Men. (Count Frederic Friberg).
