J.R. Taylor (18**-18**) was a Cape Town based performer and impressario.

According to F.C.L. Bosman (1928, p.431) (based on Groom, 1899), he apparently served as impressario for the Cape Town performances by Gustavus V. Brooke (1854-1855) and Sefton Parry (1855).

On 14 July 1855 a benefit performance was held for Taylor by Sefton Parry and company, consisting of Monsieur Jacques and Used Up.
