It's Called the Sugar Plum was written in 1969 as a television series by American playwright, director and actor Israel Horovitz [1] (born 1939).

Performance history in South Africa

1975: Performed in a double bill with Line, directed by Grethe-Maria Fox and Charlotte du Toit for the Outer Space (Cape Town) from 29 January 1975, with Bill Curry, Vincent Ebrahim, Andrea Fine, Dawie Malan and Maralin Vanrenen.

1984: Performed by En Cue as part of an Israel Horovitz Double Bill (with Stage Directions) at the National Arts Festival Fringe, 1984. Directed by Nico Sachse, starring Roger Dubarry and Fiona Coyne.
