Iste Gallus Bene Cantat, of Is Het Hy Wel? ("Iste Gallus Bene Cantat, or is it really him?") is a one act Dutch farce by an anonymous author.

Only mentioned by F.C.L. Bosman, 1928, it appears to have been based on a well-known anecdote, cited by Voltaire as a good example of un apropos in his Questions sur L'Encyclopedie, par des amateurs (Tome Second, Volume 40) 1779.

1811: Performed on 24 August in Dutch by some amateurs, possibly a youth group studying French, with De Reis van't Vernuft rondom de Wereld (Anon.)
