Iste Gallus Bene Cantat, of Is Het Hy Wel? ("Iste Gallus Bene Cantat, or is it really him?") is a one act Dutch farce by an anonymous author.

Original text

Only mentioned by F.C.L. Bosman, 1928, it appears to have been based on a well-known anecdote, cited by Voltaire as a good example of un apropos in his Questions sur L'Encyclopedie, par des amateurs (Tome Second, Volume 40) 1779.
