Isabelle Cordier

Also known as Isabelle Cordier-Steenkamp. (19**-) Afrikaans journalist and actress. Married agricultural journalist Jabuz Steenkamp and settled in the Cape as journalist, inter alia working for the journals Huisgenoot and Sarie. She also wrote a number of short stories.

Her first professional role as stage actress was that of the maid in André Huguenet's production of Geleende Vere in 1944. The play toured for 6 months. This experience led to a liffe-long love of theatre and she later became a founding member of the Kaapstadse Afrikaanse Toneelvereniging (K.A.T. and participated in many stage and radio productions over the years. After her retirement as journalist, she settled in Somerset West and continued being involved in theatre productions for the Senior Club of the NG Kerk Helderberg.
