Her first professional role as stage actress was that of the maid in [[André Huguenet]]'s production of  ''[[Geleende Vere]]'' in 1944. The play toured for 6 months. This experience led to a liffe-long love of theatre and she later became a founding member of the [[Kaapse Afrikaanse Toneeelgeselskap]] ([[K.A.T.]] and participated in many stage and radio productions over the years. After her retirement as journalist, she settled in Somerset West and continued being involved in theatre productions for the Senior Club of the NG Kerk Helderberg.
