Isabella Mostert (19**- ) is a South African actress and graphic artist.

Biography

Born on 10 July, 1962, in , where she attended


Isabella started acting at the age of 16 while still at school, winning the nationwide ATKV competition as best supporting actress. , followed by the next year winning the best actress award. While doing her post graduation acting diploma she was hailed as South Africa’s answer to Meryl Steep (Adrienne Sichel: The Star) for her part as ‘Anna’ in the highly acclaimed Ek, Anna Van Wyk (1984). After completing her studies she joined PACOFS as a member of their permanent acting company for a couple of years. While free lancing for CAPAB she performed in productions like Ibsen’s Spoke, 1990 winner of the AA Vita award for Best Production and Rebellie van Lafras Verwey, winner of 1992 Fleur du Cap Best Production. She made her debut on television in the award winning series Arende, and was nominated for an Artes Award for best supporting actress in 1993. She also played ‘Lilley’ in the acclaimed Puppet Masters, winner of the 1993 Artes Best Drama Series for CCV. Other television credits include Sonkring, The Game, Backstage, Sewende Laan, Egoli, Getroud met Rugby, Binnelanders and Feast of the Uninvited. She has also featured in Henley-on-Klip: The Movie and the feature film Roepman.

Stage, film and TV work

Best known for her starring role as "Liefie" in the television drama series Arende and the title role of "Anna" in the Afrikaans feature film Ek, Anna van Wyk (1984).
