Born on 10 July, 1962, in , where she attended  [[Hoër Meisieskool Oranje]] in Bloemfontein, and started acting at the age of 16 while still at school, winning the nationwide ATKV competition as best supporting actress, followed by the next year winning the best actress award.

Biography
