Human & Rousseau[1] is a leading South African publishing house.

Origins

Founded in 1959 H&R by authors and publishers Koos Human (1931-)[2] and Leon Rousseau (1931–2016)[3], the business initially focused on publishing new wrting in Afrikaans, but later started publishing broader based South African works, in both Afrikaans and in English.

It became part of the Naspers publishing empire in 19**.
